Rhymeku.com

I came up with the idea of a "rhymeku" (or rhyming haiku) because I like haikus but was looking for something a little more challenging. On Rhymeku.com I post rhymekus roughly twice a week, and give them each a unique typographic style. If you're at all interested in fonts or haikus, you should check it out!

SCRIPT613.com

SCRIPT613.com is the official website of the incredibly talented hip-hop artist Loren Whittingham, aka SCRIPT. I built this website using the Wordpress content management system, and created all of the images myself. SCRIPT is starting to make big moves in his music career, so he needed a website that was as professional as his music sounds.

Despite having a website, every musician still needs a Myspace page. Anyone who's been on Myspace knows how low the bar is for page aesthetics, and I quickly learned the reason why: the underlying code is complete garbage. Through no small amount of work I was able to tame the beast and make it consistent with the brand I'd created for his website and album. That said, I still wanted to direct visitors to greener pastures - his music video, website, and album on iTunes - hence the banner above the fray.

Album Design for 'Just Me'

SCRIPT's debut album, 'Just Me', represented an incredible achievement in his music career. Wanting to provide him with a product that matched his high expectations, I presented him with 5 different versions to choose from. Surprisingly, the option he chose (shown here) was the first design I created - sometimes you get it on the first shot! Normally, I'd present the other album options here as an example of my work...but he's got a lot more albums to come, so we decided to keep those alternates under wraps for now :)

SulisTrip.com

My first real Wordpress blog, which I used to chronicle our family's adventures sailing south to the Bahamas. The majority of work that went into this site was in the form of all the blog and picture updates I posted over the course of our 10-month journey. I used a modified version of the Glossy Blue theme by N.Design studios, and customized the Flickr Photo Album plugin to fit my needs. Modifying an existing Wordpress theme is great for getting things off the ground quickly, but I generally prefer to build themes from scratch. Still, not a bad learning experience!
